RFID Project for DHF

Timber Raw Material & Finished Goods Warehouse Management with RFID

Industry: Furniture & Timber | Scale: Manufacturing Plant

Challenge

Problems DHF Faced

Inventory took days

Warehouse spanning thousands of m², tens of thousands of timber codes. Manual barcode counting took 3-5 days, halting warehouse operations.

Severe stock discrepancies

Barcodes on timber peeled off easily, faded from sawdust. High scan error rate caused 5-10% stock discrepancy.

Slow goods in/out

Each in/out required scanning individual timber bundles, creating queues at dock doors and logistics bottlenecks.

No real-time visibility

Stock data only updated during audits. Between audits, exact stock levels were unknown.

Solution

RFID LAGI Deployment

Heat-resistant RFID tags for timber

Used specialized UHF RFID tags that resist heat and dust, attachable to raw timber and finished products.

Automated RFID dock doors

Installed fixed RFID readers + RC12 antennas at dock doors. Forklifts drive through, system auto-records in/out.

Handheld inventory devices

Equipped staff with Sled Reader R6 and P80 tablets for inventory. Walk around warehouse scanning hundreds of tags per second.

RFID management software

Developed software integrated with DHF ERP, real-time stock updates, automated reports, anomaly alerts.
