RFID Project for Kovapaint
RFID on Paint Production Line and Warehouse Management
Industry: Paint Manufacturing | Scale: Production Plant
Before and After RFID
Before — Barcode
Must scan each paint drum individually, line-of-sight required.
Large warehouse, tens of thousands of drums, production must stop.
Barcodes get paint-stained, faded, torn, unscannable.
Scan each drum on pallet, queue at dock doors.
Staff write on paper, enter into system at end of day.
After — RFID
Scan entire pallet at once, no line-of-sight needed.
Audit entire warehouse without stopping production.
RFID tags resist paint, chemicals, unaffected by dirt.
Forklift drives through RFID gate, auto-recorded.
Instant ERP update on every in/out/movement.

Solution Details
Chemical-Resistant RFID Tags
Special UHF RFID tags that resist solvents, paint, chemicals. Attached to drum lids, unaffected by paint splashes.
RFID Gates at Dock Doors
Installed CM2000-4 readers + RC12 antennas at 4 receiving/shipping docks. Forklifts drive through, system auto-records everything.
Inline Readers on Production
URA4 mounted at end of packaging line. Each drum gets tagged and auto-read before palletizing.
RFID Label Printer
Zebra ZD621R prints labels with embedded RFID tags. Encodes product code, production date, batch into tag.
